Preventative Services
Cleaning
Professional dental cleanings aren’t just for keeping your smile bright; they can have a significant impact on your general health. Insufficient oral hygiene has been linked to several serious illnesses. Associated medical and dental issues include bone loss, cardiovascular disease, strokes, cancers, and many other problems. Brushing and flossing at home are essential, but to ensure teeth are healthy and thoroughly clean, you should schedule regular visits as suggested by your dental professional.
Fluoride
An in-office fluoride varnish treatment will be offered to you if you have a history of decay, sensitive teeth, or recessions. Fluoride aids in the prevention of decay, as well as sensitivity by strengthening the enamel of the teeth and aiding in the re-mineralization process.
Desensitizing
Sometimes a tooth or area does not respond to just the Fluoride application, or perhaps you do not want to have the fluoride treatment done for other reasons. We can place an application of a different desensitizing agent that is applied directly to your tooth while you are in the office that may also solve the issue for you.
Dental Sealants
We are able to do dental sealants for both children and adults who have high decay risks. A sealant is a plastic coating that is bonded in the grooves of the molars to help prevent decay. They are most effective the first year the teeth are grown into the mouth as this is when they are most prone to decay.
